Dr. Chia Song Kun
Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman
Dr. Chia Song Kun joined the Board on 4 March 2011. He is the founder and Managing Director of QL Resources Berhad which is listed in the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. He is credited with nurturing and transforming the QL Group into a diversified agricultural based group with a turnover of over RM1.4 billion. He was also the founder of Inti Universal Holdings Berhad, one of the leading private colleges in Malaysia. In 2008, he was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (Hon LLD) by the University of Hertfordshire in honour of his outstanding contribution to the development of business and education in Malaysia.
Dr Chia graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree majoring in Mathematics and a Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Malaya.
Leong Yew Cheong
Managing Director
Leong Yew Cheong has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the boiler manufacturing industry. The holder of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom), he began his career in 1980 when he joined a boiler manufacturer as a project engineer and was responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of boilers. He subsequently rose to become its executive director.
A long and successful career has led him to assume responsibility for overseeing the overall operations of our Group with an emphasis on strategic business planning and development. He is supported by a team of key management and personnel who are responsible for implementing and executing our Group's strategic plans.
Wong Wee Voo
Executive Director
Wong Wee Voo brings with him over three decades of experience in the boiler industry. His career began at a trading house promoting and marketing insulation and refractory materials for boilers and furnaces. Later, he joined a boiler manufacturer where he assumed various positions within the company throughout his tenure. He left the company in 2005 as Deputy General Manager (Sales) and is now primarily responsible for the sales & marketing, human resources and administrative functions of our Group.
Chia Lik Khai
Executive Director
Chia Lik Khai graduated from the MBA programme of Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, United States. He also received a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, United States. During his career he has worked at McKinsey & Company in Shanghai, Agilent and Avago Technologies in Silicon Valley, and now with QL Resources in Kuala Lumpur as Group Corporate Development Director. Lik Khai is responsible for overseeing the overall corporate planning and finance functions of our Group.
Chia Seong Fatt
Director (alternate to Chia Lik Khai, Executive Director)
After graduating from the University of London with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree majoring in Chemistry, Chia Seong Fatt practised as an industrial chemist for three years before pursuing an MBA. He then served for seven years as Managing Director in a company involved in layer farming. Since 1991 he has held senior positions in companies within the QL Group. That experience has given him expert knowledge in the palm oil industry.
Low Teng Lum
Independent Non- Executive Director
Low Teng Lum is a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and holds a Masters in Public Administration from the John Fitzgerald Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
A successful career has seen him hold various accounting financial and operational positions in Arthur Young & Company (presently known as Ernst & Young), Guthrie Malaysia Holdings Berhad, Palmco Holdings Berhad, General Corporation Berhad, Southern Steel Berhad and Guinness Anchor Berhad. His qualifications and vast experience in finance, accounting and operational management will benefit our Group in the financial, strategic management and corporate governance aspects.
Mohd Yusof bin Hussian
Independent Non-Executive Director
A graduate of University Teknology MARA, Yusof is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He was formerly a member of the ACCA Malaysian Advisory Committee.
Yusof has a long and varied career across several management functions and industries, including PTM Thompson Advertising Sdn Bhd and Shell Malaysia.
He is presently the Independent Non-Executive Chairman of CIMB Aviva Assurance Berhad and CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad, both subsidiaries of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad. He also holds directorships in INTI Universal Holdings Sdn Bhd and Proton Commerce Sdn Bhd, an associate company of Proton Holdings Berhad.
